This past Sunday I was asked to walk in the Hip and Bone runway show for TOM* and it was incredible. Carlos Fogleman and Jeffrey Rosen, founders of Hip and Bone, approached me and asked me to walk as an influencer in the show.
The brand is exactly the style I wear in my day-to-day life, so I felt like it was a really good fit for me on the aesthetics front. Their focus is on creating pieces for a modern wardrobe by redefining “The Basics”.
You know, those staple pieces that everyone has in their wardrobe that never go out of style, and always work for dressing an outfit up or down.
The brand was launched in 2010 by Carlos and Jeffrey and continues to focus on quality over quantity. The fabrics they use in their garments are nothing short of luxurious — if I’m wearing something daily, I like to know that the materials not only feel good, but also are durable. Aside from the actual quality of the clothing, the brand itself if all around dope — everyone from Kanye West to Steve Aoki wears the brand.
Walking in the show was an experience to say the very least. I have quite a bit of runway experience from my youth, but I haven’t been on a runway since I was 20, so let’s just say that a fair amount of time has lapsed since then. Backstage was easy going and everyone from the models to the designers were professional and kind. I definitely had some nerves in me right before I stepped out on the stage, but once you’re out there, it’s not so bad — there is no question in my mind that I would do this again, it was fun.
A big thank you to Carlos and Jeffrey for thinking of me to participate.
